Restart -> F8 -> Repair your computer -> System Image Recovery<\/pre>\n

Win Boot CD -> Repair your computer -> Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier.<\/pre>\n

Then I booted to the windows 7 recovery cd.<\/p>\n
When it didnt find the location of the backup<\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
I chose to restore a system image and under advanced I chose a network location<\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
I input the location of the image and waited for hours for the restore.<\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
I booted back to the recovery cd<\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
I chose command prompt
\ntype \u201cregedit\u201d, press enter
\nhighlight HKEY LOCAL MACHINE<\/p>\n
go to file -> Load Hive
\nSelect the file in C:\\Windows\\System32\\config\\system<\/p>\n
Note: I say drive C but by drive C I mean the drive with windows on it.\u00a0 Mine was D.<\/p>\n
Also Note:\u00a0 You start in drive X.<\/p>\n

Give it any name, say \u201casdf\u201d<\/p>\n
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\asdf\\ControlSet1\\Services<\/p>\n
Now find the various entries listed below under \u201cServices\u201d, enter each\u00a0 of them, find the \u201cStart\u201d key and change it to the value below:<\/p>\n
aliide = 3
\namdide = 3
\natapi = 0
\ncmdide = 3
\niaStorV = 3
\nintelide = 0
\nmsahci = 3
\npciide = 3
\nviaide = 3<\/p>\n

Click file -> Unload Hive<\/p>\n
Exit regedit<\/p>\n

Exit the command prompt<\/p>\n
Restart the VM<\/p>\n

I think I only changed one or two of them.<\/p>\n
